LC-MS Method Development Chemist

Due to rapid growth and expansion, we have an exciting opportunity for a Method Development Chemist to join our team in Sioux Falls, SD.

This role: Researches, develops and validates bio-analytical methods for quantitation of nutritional analytes in biological matrices using a variety of analytical techniques, and in a manner consistent with current regulatory expectations. The method development chemist would report to the COO.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
-Undertakes original research that includes developing and confirming highly sensitive, reliable assay methodologies for the rapid and accurate analysis of nutritional analytes in biological fluids and tissues.
-Performs complex analytical methods on biological matrices, often involving problem solving situations.
-Responsible for conducting Bio-analysis method development, validation and sample analysis using LC-MS/MS for quantitative analysis of analytes in biological matrices.
-Applies and interprets scientific theories, concepts, techniques, and regulatory requirements in bioanalytical and mass spectrometry studies and accepts leadership role in developing scientific approaches. • Responds to unscheduled deadlines, client needs, crises, etc. without neglecting other duties.
-Participates in client visits.
-Prepares SOPs and other documents such as validation protocols, validation reports, and data reports for testing results• Contributes to long-range planning and technical policies of the department. • Performs other related duties as assigned.
-Share responsibility for lab management duties

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
To be considered for the position, individuals are required to possess a Bachelor’s degree; Master’s or PhD Degree preferred, in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry,Biochemistry or a closely related field. Individuals must have 1 or more years experience using analytical techniques for bio-analysis with proven hands-on experience with liquid chromatography with tandem-mass spectrometry [LC-MS/MS]), experience in bioanalytical method development, validation, analysis, and sample preparation (such as blood, plasma, urine, tissue).

The ideal candidate will also have experience in gas chromatography (GC), dried blood spot sample analysis, and ELISA assays.

EXPERIENCE
-Proven track record of analytical method development using LC-MS platform
-Skilled in conducting research, compiling data, data interpretation, and writing reports according to regulatory requirements.
-Skilled in performing scientific presentations and preparing scientific publications. • Knowledge of laboratory automation software, system software, and Microsoft applications.
-Effective oral and written communication skills.
